Changing the way users perceive a complex web app

Apvera is an information technology company that offers cyber-security solutions for businesses. Their product allows employers to identify employees’ behavioural patterns and reveal anomalous insider threat in real time and takes immediate action to prevent data loss.

The company was looking for an UX consulting firm to change the way users perceive the app. As technologies and methodologies advance, Apvera’s platform became more complex and the role of Pixel Tie was to revamp the platform to make it more usable.

Our job started with a competitive analysis to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their current platform within the cyber security industry.

Next, we gathered information to put together a plan for the platform. This is the point where the site map was developed. This served us as a guide as to what content will be on the platform, and was essential to develop a consistent, easy to understand navigational system.

The system involves a myriad of user tasks and our main focus was to make them valuable, pleasant and efficient for the users. So we reviewed each components in order to improve their usability and accessibility.
